Your wedding day is all about you as a couple so your ceremony should reflect your personalities, interests, beliefs and style. Your wedding can be traditional, modern, spiritual, non-religious, romantic, Pagan (any path), themed (sci-fi, fairies, steampunk, Harry Potter etc) – whatever you want.
During your free, initial consultation, I will listen to what you want and take time to understand your love story and what makes your bond unique. Together we will outline your ceremony. I will offer suggestions and details for you to consider and explain some of the elements (or mini-ceremonies) which you might like to include. You will also start thinking about the personalised vows which you will make to one another.
Your ceremony can be performed almost anywhere, indoors or outdoors.
Your wedding is a celebration of your commitment in the way that you want it to be. You don’t have to fit into someone else’s template. You don’t need to worry about what to say on the day, or when, as I will guide you through the ceremony. Nor do you need to worry about unavoidable delays. Unlike a registrar, I only officiate one wedding on any given date so I am happy to start the ceremony a bit later than planned.
If you want to be legally married you can arrange it at your registry office any time before or after your bespoke ceremony.
You cannot book me during this initial consultation because I would like you to have time to discuss it with one another. I will reserve your date in my diary for seven days. If I haven’t heard from you by day 8, I will erase it.
However, if you allow me the honour of being your celebrant, together we will create the ceremony of your dreams which will declare and celebrate your love. I will write the draft in stages and then submit it to you. You can add ideas, delete parts or request a section to be re-written. When you have approved the final version, I will create your keepsake copy which will be presented to you after the ceremony.

A kind comment from one of my recent ceremonies:
“Our wedding day was such a beautiful and heart-felt day and the ceremony was at the centre of it.
All of our friends and family loved the ceremony, with a strong mix of emotion and humour, and we are honoured to have had you as our celebrant.
The ceremony was perfect and your delivery and aura was just what we were looking for.”
HANDFASTINGS
A handfasting was originally a Celtic betrothal ceremony. Nowadays, anyone who is close to nature and the four elements – earth, air, fire and water – can choose a handfasting ceremony. Ceremonies often take place out of doors in an area of natural beauty or a place of spiritual significance. The tying of the bride and groom’s hands together with cords or ribbons has given rise to the phrases “bonds of matrimony” and “tying the knot”.
During your initial, free consultation, I will listen to what you want and take time to understand your particular spiritual path. Together we will outline your ceremony. I will offer suggestions and details for you to consider. You will also start thinking about the personalised vows which you will make to one another in the presence of your family, friends and deities.

VOW RENEWALS
Vow Renewals often celebrate a milestone in a marriage such as a silver or ruby wedding anniversary, or they renew commitment after a period of difficult circumstances. Some couples want a themed ceremony to contrast with their original wedding and/or to reflect the way they have changed and developed since then. Other couples wish to include their children in their Vow Renewal Ceremony – or even have their children conducting the ceremony. In this case I am happy to create the ceremony, in conjunction with the whole family, and then hand over the baton to the children. (Please refer to Terms and Fees page.)
Whatever your reasons for wanting a Vow Renewal ceremony, it is a beautiful way to celebrate your ongoing love. Not only is it an opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for what has gone before in your marital journey, but you can also make new promises for the future. We can work together to create your ideal ceremony, whether it be a small, intimate affair or a much grander occasion.
